Why is nobody talking about how our turnover margin is the single biggest indicator for whether we actually compete for the ACC title this year? We finished last season at a -3, which ranked in the bottom half of the conference. That number has to flip.
The offense gave the ball away 15 times, and while the new QB from the portal is a huge talent, his system at his last school had a 2.5% interception rate. That's not elite ball security. The defense only generated 12 takeaways last year, which is simply not enough for a team with top-10 aspirations.
If the defensive backfield, which is getting hyped for sending guys to the pros, can't translate that talent into more interceptions and forced fumbles, we're just a good team, not a great one. The entire spring focus should be on creating chaos and protecting the football. Can this staff actually coach the fundamentals needed to win the turnover battle consistently?
