ESPN puts out their top 25 portal classes and we aren't even in the conversatin. Fine by me. We built through the high school ranks and developed our guys while half the league is shopping every winter. That culture is why we keep winning when nobody expects it.
comparing this roster to the teams we ran out there in 2019 and 2020 is honestly laughable. back then we were hoping for six wins and praying the defense could hold the rope. now we have legitimate two-deep talent across the board, a quarterback that nfl scouts are droling over. the portal class we just brought in addressed every single weak spot from last season and people still want to. we are not. the gap between where this program sits right now and where we were five years ago is the biggest improvement. nobody talks about it because the national narrative is stuck on alabama reloading and georgia being the bully. this isn't hope anymore. this is what a program looks like when it finally figures out how to recruit, develop. watch what happens when the 2026 season starts and people realize they slept on us all offseason.
Everybody wants to talk about the big portal hauls at Ohio State and Oregon but look at what we did. We brought in exactly the kind of experienced bodies that fit what this staff wants to do. No splashy five-star names, just guys who understand gap integrity and can tackle in space. That's how you win in this league when the offense is clicking. The system works when you have depth and we finally have it.
refs will swallow their whistles for alabama and georgia all day but let a gamecock defensive back breathe on a ngl. three years of watching the same calls go against us while the big brands get away with holding on every play. it's e...
Everyone talking about Arch Manning and the 2027 draft record like the SEC is just Texas and Georgia. Our guys are quietly stacking evaluation wins right now tbh. We got 2026 commits nobody is discussing because they don't flash on 247 but watch the senior film. The staff knows ex...
People can talk all they want about the flashy new stadiums popping up across the SEC but nothng touches the. I don't care how many fancy video boards and luxury suites these other programs throw up. It is a primal thing that you cannot replicate with architecture and it is the single biggest home field advantage in the entire conference. You watch these new programs trying to force a culture with portal guys who have no loyalty and no connection. Our place gets loud because generations of families have been coming through those gates. That is real and it matters more than any of these analysts want to admit when they talk about roster construction and recruiting rankings. You cannot buy history. Auburn just landed another four-star running back and good for them but I would take our game day atmosphere over any of that. We do not need to rebuild our identity every offseason because our identity has been sitting there in those stands. That is why we always have a chance against anybody who walks into that stadium. The ground literally shakes and opponents feel it.
Shane Beamer does not get enough cedit for how he built this program the right way. While half the league is panicking in the portal every winter. That doesn't happen by accident. The culture piece is real. We are not a program that relies on plugging in ten new transfers every spring hoping they figure it out by August. We develop our own and we do it consistently. That is a direct reflec...
Watching Monroe Freeling go 19th overall to Carolina and all I can think about is how many times we had. Georgia develops offensive linemen like nobody else in the country and now he's getting paid. Meanwhile we are sitting here in spring ball trying to figure out if our O-line can protect long enough for. Every single SEC program is losing guys to the draft and half the conference is scrambling through the portal. We need to be aggressive right now. Not flashy just smart. The gap between us and the teams consistently sending first rounders to the league starts in the trenches and I. Our 2026 class is solid but we need to hit on these transfer offensive linemen or we are going to.
Ten NFL scouts put LaNorris Sellers in the same 2027 QB draft conversation as Dante Moore and Arch Manning and. Meanwhile our QB is quietly running this offense while everyone else fights over portal drama. We don't need a 43-man portal class or five 5-stars to compete fr fr. We just need our guy under center and a defense that hits like Williams-Brice on a Saturday night. Let them sleep on us again. We know what ...
Wait so ESPN polls scouts for 2027 QB draft prospects and puts LaNorris Sellers in that conversation with Dante Moore and Arch Manning? Told yall. We knew what we had when he was carving up SEC defenses last fall. The nation is finally catching up to what we been saying in Columbia for two years now.
Can someone explain why the whole conference is losing their minds about a nine-game SEC schedule when nobody wants to. Every talking head on ESPN is debating the CFP implications and fan travel costs but they completely ignore how this. We already play one of the toughest schedules in the East every single year. Adding another conference game means we lose a buy game that used to guarantee six wins at home. That kills momentum for a program like ours that builds through grinding out tough non-conference wins. Our spring practices have been focused on depth at every position because we know the SEC grind is about to get even nastier. The real story nobody is touching is how this nine-game schedule exposes the programs that relied on cupcakes to pad their records. We don't need that. We've been playing real football in Williams-Brice for decades. Let the rest of the league figure out what we already know: surviving this conference is about toughness and depth, not some playoff formula. Our staff is building for exactly this kind of war.
Watching Mike Elko talk about spring game detals and potential SEC scheduling changes while our program is just quietly going. Texas A&M is out here giving press conferences about nine-game schedules and CFP expansion, and nobody is talking about what we're building. That's fine by me. The loudest programs always have the most to prove. We've been stacking spring practices, developing our system, and letting the results speak for themselves. Every time the media focuses on the shiny new thing at A&M or the QB battle Arkansas is dealing with. No drama, no rebuilds, just steady growth. Let them talk about the SEC changing. We'll be ready when the lights come on.
Why do people act like the SEC is some new monster? We've been playing in the toughest league for decades, and our histry of pulling upsets against giants like Georgia and Tennessee proves we belong. This current portal chaos is just a different flavor of the same old fight. Are we the only ones who remember that real programs are built on culture, not just collecting 50 transfers every year?
calling it now, our defensive front is gonna be the biggest surprise in the sec this year. everyone is so obsessed with the portal and these flashy new offenses, but they're sleeping on the work we've done in the trenches this spring. we lost some guys to the draft, sure, but the new faces and the development we're seeing is legit. the speed off the edge and the discipline inside is on a different level right now. people read about texas a&m sweeping lsu in baseball and think that's the only story in the sec. while auburn is getting all sentimental with a new coach and oregon is fighting over quarterbacks, we're building a wall. the scheme is simpler, faster, and meaner. these guys aren't just playing for a spot, they're playing to prove the whole league wrong about us. they think because we aren't grabbing fifty portal guys like oklahoma state or colorado that we can't compete. that's a joke. we build from within, we coach them up, and we unleash them. by october, every offensive coordinator on our schedule is gonna be having nightmares about our pressure packages. the sec still runs through defense, and ours is about to remind everyone why williams-brice is the loudest house in the country.
The SEC refs have a vendetta against us and it's the only reason we don't have more wins in the East. They swallow the whistle on obvious holds against our pass rush and then call phantom PIs on our DBs in every critical third down situation. It's A league-wide conspiracy to keep the traditional powers on top, and our staff needs to start calling it out publicly. We get the worst crews in Williams-Brice every single year.
the sec is still the best conference because of atmospheres like ours at williams-brice, and no amount of portal chaos changes that. while other leagues have teams with 50 new faces, our home crowd gives us a permanent advantage that can't be transferred. all these portal stories about setbacks and overhauls just prove that culture and a real home field matter more than ever. we don't need 43 transfers to be ready, we just need a saturday night in columbia.
