Stop pretending our defensive issues are just about talent. Everyone wants to blame last year's secondary or the pass rush, but the real problem was the scheme being a step behind. LSU Tigers were giving up 7.2 yards per pass attempt, which was bottom third nationally. That's a schematic failure, not just players getting beat.
The whole "bend don't break" philosophy got torched. Third and long was a joke because the play-calling was predictable. How many times did we see a soft zone on 3rd and 8 just get picked apart? The numbers don't lie. The havoc rate was pathetic, ranking in the 80s. You can't win in this league without creating negative plays.
This spring has to be about a total philosophical shift. More press coverage, more disguised pressures, just more aggression. The new transfers in the secondary have the length for it. If the staff doesn't unleash them and modernize, we'll waste another year of offensive firepower. It's time to get nasty on that side of the ball again.
