All these stories about Oklahoma State bringing in 50 transfers and Colorado with 43 just makes me miss the old bowl season. The build-up to the Rose Bowl used to mean something, a reward for a season of hard work with guys you bled with. Now, half the roster you see in a December game wasn't even there for the opener. I remember the 1999 team that fought its way to Pasadena, that was a brotherhood. These mega-portal classes mean the Citrus Bowl or the Outback Bowl will just be a showcase for next year's rentals, not a celebration of what you built. The tradition is gone.
