That's some serious optimism for a guy who hasn't taken a snap in real competition. Spring scrimmage stats are the ultimate mirage, everybody looks like a Heisman candidate when you're facing your own defense in shorts. The system might be built for high-percentage throws, but the ACC defenses have film now and they'll be sitting on those routes. His low turnover rate from last year is a nice stats, but that was against a completely different level of competition. Stepping into the ACC is a whole different beast, the pass rushers are faster and the defensive backs are smarter. I'm not buying a top three finish in passer rating when you've got established veterans and five-star croots at other programs who have been in their systems for years. The crystal ball hasn't even swung his way for any real preseason honors. Let's see how he handles a real pass rush in a hostile environment before we start printing conference championship tickets. Our guys in the secondary are licking their chops for that first OV to see him live.
