The NCAA has to start somewhere, and if they let this slide, the entire system becomes a free-for-all with zero accountability. Vacating wins is a real consequence that actually stings, unlike a meaningless fine. It directly hits the program's record and legacy. For us at State, this is validation lol. We operate in the gray areas like everybody else, sure, but getting caught with direct, provable tampering is a choice. It's a risk you take. The elimination of the spring window actually helps stabilize rosters for spring practice and forces more deliberate decisions, not less. It cuts down on the post-spring poaching that destabilizes teams. Seeing a conference rival face real penalties isn't suspicious, it's a reminder that the rules still exist. If you're furious about enforcement, maybe question why your program feels the need to operate in the dark instead of selling itself on its actual merits. The sharks you're worried about are the ones who will now have to be smarter, not just brazen. This doesn't scare the little guys, it warns the sloppy ones. Our approach is built for this. We develop, we identify needs, and we recruit the portal hard but within the lines. This ruling doesn't change that. It just punishes those who couldn't help but pick up the phone too early.
