Just saw the ESPN top 100 newcomers list and Texas has guys sprinkled throughout but nobody is talking about the bigger picture. The SEC power structure is shifting and Texas is quietly positioned to take over the top spot. Oregon and Ohio State are getting all the preseason hype but look at returning production plus portal additions plus elite recruiting. That combo is hard to beat lol. Georgia and Alabama both lost significant talent to the NFL this draft year. Texas lost guys too but the depth chart is deeper than it has been in a decade. The SP+ projections are going to favor the teams with proven backups and Texas has that in spades right now. The gap between the SEC's top tier and everyone else is closing but Texas is the one program that added without subtracting in critical areas. If the new offensive line jells during summer workouts this could be the most complete roster in the conference.
