Nick Saban backing that $12.5M extension for Kalen DeBoer is the most predictable Alabama politician move I've ever seen. Of ccourse he's gonna endorse the guy who got a massive bag before coaching a single meaningful game in Tuscaloosa ngl. DeBoer went 9-3 last year with the most talented roster in America and people are acting like that's acceptable. Saban would have gone 11-1 with that group in his sleep. The standard has slipped. You don't pay a guy $12.5M to lose to Tennessee and Oklahoma in the same season. If DeBoer drops another game to a rival this fall, that extension looks like a hostage note. Alabama fans are about to learn what the rest of us already know. Nick Saban was the program, not the other way around.
