Notre Dame's schedule is far from a fraud, and the idea they'll be "exposed" ignores the reality of their roster and the specific challenges they face. They open at Texas A&M, a brutal road environment against an SEC team with a top-15 talent composite. They host Louisville, a team that won 10 games last year. The Miami game is always a wildcard with that roster talent. And then you have the obvious: the USC game and the trip to Stanford, which are never easy regardless of records. Their defense, which finished 15th in yards per play allowed last season, returns a ton of experience and should keep them in every single one of those contests. To call that path a fraud is just wishful thinking from a rival who hopes it's true. They have a legitimate Heisman candidate at quarterback and one of the most stable programs in the country. If they navigate that schedule with one or even two losses, that's the mark of a very good team, not an exposed one. The narrative that their schedule is soft gets repeated every year, but the results on the field rarely back it up.
