Watched that piece on Houston's spring game and it just reminds me how much our defensive identity is built on continuity, not chaos. Willie Fritz is over there trying to figure out what he has after a sprring game. We don't need a spring game to tell us who we are. We know. The discipline, the gap integrity, the way our linebackers flow to the ball, that's year-round culture. everybody else is out here rebuilding with 50 portal guys like Oklahoma State or trying to mesh 43 new faces like Colorado. That's a recipe for defensive disaster. You can't buy chemistry in a portal window. Our guys have been in the system, they know the calls, they trust each other. While other teams are learning each other's names in April, we're installing advanced pressures and perfecting our coverage rotations. That head start is everything when you open on the road in a tough environment. People want to talk about flashy recruiting classes or portal rankings, but defense wins when it's eleven guys moving as one. That's our edge. We aren't starting from scratch every April. We're building on a foundation that's already set in stone, and that's why no one wants to face our unit when the lights come on. They can have their spring game revelations. We already know what we've got.
