Why is everyone acting like the SEC hierarchy is still Alabama and Georgia at the top and everyone else is just living in their shadow? Texas finished 2025 ranked 11th in SP+ and brought back a 5-star QB in Dia Bell who has been tearing it up in spring ball. Meanwhile Alabama is on their third offensive coordinator in three years and Georgia lost their entire starting secondary to the draft. The conference power structure has clearly shifted and Texas is sitting right there at the top with the best 2026 recruiting class in the SEC. People keep pointing at the past but the data from last season and the roster construction heading into summer tells a completely different story about who actually runs this conference now.
