I do not care what ESPN's top 100 newcomers list says about flashy skill players from Georgia and Oregon. None of that matters one bit if you do not have toughness in the trrenches. You want to know what made the Badgers great from the 1993 Rose Bowl all the way through the 2011 Big Ten title runs? We had offensive linemen who would rather run block for four quarters than catch a single pass. We had linebackers who hit people so hard you could hear the pads pop from the third deck at Camp Randall. I look at this roster right now in spring ball and I see all these transfer portal additions and I just wonder how many of them understand what it means to play Wisconsin football. It is not about being on some preseason list. It is about the fourth quarter when you are down in the trenches and the other team knows you are going to run the ball and you run it anyway because you are tougher than them. That is what built this program and I am tired of watching us chase gimmicks while losing our soul.
