Kent State fans have every right to be proud of their history. A rivalry is built on respect for the tradition on both sides, and their program's achievements are a real part of that. We own the recent matchups, and that's something to celebrate, but acting like their past doesn't matter is how rivalries lose their meaning. We want to beat a program with pride, not one whose legacy we pretend is irrelevant. Our current streak is great, but it doesn't erase the decades of competition that came before it. Let's keep the focus on extending our win streak on the field instead of trying to belittle their entire identity. Real confidence means acknowledging the challenge and the histroy, then going out and proving we're better anyway. We'll be ready for the next one, and we'll defend that wheel because we know what it means to both schools.
