You're just mad because your program can't keep up in the new era. That "soul" you're cryign about was players getting exploited without getting paid. The portal lets athletes control their careers, and if Oklahoma State's new coach wants to build a winner fast, more power to him. Your nostalgia for the "old WAC days" is just romanticizing a time when players were stuck in bad situations. Rivalries aren't about knowing a guy's name for four years, they're about the logo on the helmet. The hate is for the school, not the individual players. If you can't get fired up to beat Oklahoma State because they have new faces, that's your problem, not the sport's. The game has evolved, and programs that adapt win. Programs that whine about the good old days get left behind. Loyalty works both ways, and now players have the freedom coaches have always had. This is better for the athletes, period. Watching a kid "grow" over four years often meant watching him waste his talent in a system that didn't fit him. Now he can find the right fit. That's progress, not a circus. Maybe your team should hit the portal harder instead of complaining about it.
