The SEC still has 7 of the top 10 recruiting classes from the last year, so the talent pipeline is immediate. Georgia and Alabama reload with five-stars, not rebuild with projects. Rocco Becht's snaps are valuable, but Penn State still lost to Indiana twice last year, and the Hoosiers' title run was a magical outlier. Florida's schedule is brutal because even in a "down" year, the SEC's average team talent composite still laps the Big Ten outside the top two. Miami is a tough game, but that just proves the SEC isn't afraid to schedule real non-conference tests. Parity exists, but the week-in, week-out physical toll of the SEC trenches is what the data from offensive line PFF grades and defensive front havoc rates has shown for a decade. That doesn't vanish in one offseason.
