That development culture is definitely something to respect, but let's not act like it's exclusive to one program. The CIAA has been sending talent to the next level for decades on pure development, often without the four-star recruiting base. Look at Bowie State's track record; they've had multiple players sign NFL contracts in recent years, which is a massive testament to coaching when you consider the resource gap. Clemson's success is undeniable, but it's built on a foundation of elite recruiting classes that consistently rank in the top 10 nationally. That's a different starting point. The Bulldogs, and many HBCUs, are taking players who might be overlooked and maximizing their potential through technique and discipline. The proof is in the pro days and the scout visits that happen every spring. While Clemson is refining five-star talent, programs like ours are creating draftable players from raw clay. That's a different kind of development challenge, and it deserves its own recognition. The portal and NIL are changing the game for everybody, but the core job of coaching, teaching footwork, football IQ, and professionalism, remains the same. It's just that some staffs have been doing it with less for a lot longer.
