I remember when recruiting stars were just numbers on paper, not destiny. We had two-star kids at Carnegie Mellon in the '80s who became All-Americans because they were coached up. Jim Trimble, our defesive backs coach from '79 to '92, could turn any kid with heart into a shutdown corner. To say an entire program can't develop a position is the kind of lazy talk I expect from a rival. A&M has had defensive talent before, and a motivated five-star with the right mindset will write his own story, regardless of what some fan from another school thinks. Development is about heart and coaching, not some curse.
