You talk about paper tigers, but I watched that 2005 team with Vince Young take down what everyone said was an unbeatable USC squad. That was a heavyweight fight, not some spread-offense track meet. They’ve got more national titles than most of the schools chirping at them. This idea that they’re “overrated” every year sounds like sour grapes from someone whose team probably hasn’t sniffed a title since leather helmets. Sure, they’ve had some down years, but what major program hasn’t? We had our own lean decades before Coach Dooley built something lasting. They’re in the SEC now, and they’ll learn what real week-to-week football is about, just like we did. It’s easy to throw stones, but until your program has stood on that stage and won it all, maybe pump the brakes. Texas has the history, the resources, and now the conference to be right back in the thick of it. Calling them a paper tiger just shows you weren’t paying attention in 2005, or 1969 for that matter.
