I will never understand this new generation of players who think they are too good to earn their spot. Walk on culture built this program. Barry Alvarez built this program on the backs of kids from Wisconsin who wanted it more, who showed up at 6 AM for winter workouts without a scholarship promise. Now every kid with a pulse jumps in the portal the second they don't start as a freshman. Fickell's back against the wall and maybe that is because he inherited a roster full of guys who think playing time is something you demand, not something you earn by outworking everybody for three years. I remember when we had walk ons starting on special teams that would run through a brick wall for a single carry against Iowa. That is how you build a program, not by treating every kid like a mercenary.
