You walk into Amon G. Carter Stadium now and it is a beautiful place, do not get me wrong. But I miss the old days when the east side bleahers would shake when the band played and you could feel every single hit through the concrete. I remember sitting in those metal seats in the early 80s before they renovated anything, the whole place would rumble when we got a big stop on third down. The 1994 squad that went 7-4, we had some of the loudest crowds I can remember even though we were not winning championships. The new video boards are nice and all but nothing beats the feeling of the old stadium when it was packed and the only sound was 40,000 people screaming at the same time. We lost something when they polished everything up.
