Watched that spring video of the option drills and it got me thinking about the 2000 season when we had that undersized offensive line just pulling and trapping all game long. Nobody runs the triple option anymore, nobody understands what it means to have a quarterback who can read a defensive end instead of checking into some RPO that everyone runs. I remember sitting in the stands against Utah in 2003 when we ran that option pitch perfectly three times in a row and the crowd lost its mind. Now every team in the Big 12 runs the same spread stuff with the same tempo and I cannot tell who is who anymore. Give me a fullback leading through the hole and a quarterback who can sell the fake and I will show you football that actually means something.
