I am tired of the national media narrative that our defense is in some kind of "rebuild" or "transition" year. Every single sprign they run the same story about Georgia losing talent to the draft and act like we are. We just watched Monroe Freeling go in the first round and now the talking heads want to pretend our defensive room is empty. That is laughable. Kirby Smart has built a machine that reloads not rebuilds. We have been stacking top-five recruiting classes for years now and the guys who have been waiting in the wings are ready to step up. The standard does not change just because the names on the jerseys change. The system is the system. We rotate defensive linemen like we are running a track meet and the next wave of linebackers has been soaking up knowledge for two seasons. People forget that we signed a 5-star tight end like Kaiden Prothro and the defensive side of the ball is just as loaded. The spring workouts have been intense and the competition at every position group is exactly what you want to see. Nobody is handed a starting job at Georgia. You earn it. So go ahead and keep writing your "under-the-radar" lists and your portal ranking articles. We will be in the playoff conversation like always while everyone else is still trying to figure out how to stop us.
