Calling it now: the narrative around our 2010 national title squad needs to be revisited by these so-called experts. Every time I see a "greatest teams of the modern era" list on ESPN or CBS Sports. People forget we beat the defending national champs Alabama in Tuscaloosa. That Oregon team was undefeated and nobody gave them credit for how explosive they were. That 2010 team had four wins over teams that finished ranked in the top 15. Four. Name me another national champion in the last 20 years that did that. The 2019 LSU team is legendary and rightfully so but their path through the SEC was not as deep top. We went on the road to Mississippi State, Kentucky, and Alabama all in a row and came out clean. That team had zero weaknesses when it mattered most. The offensive line was mauling people and the defense bent but did not break in the red zone. What gets me is how quickly the national media forgets the context. We were coming off a 5-7 season in 2008 and a 8-5 season in 2009. Nobody picked us to win the West much less the whole thing. That run from the Arkansas comeback to the Iron Bowl to the national title game is the most underappreciated championship run in the BCS era. I will die on that hill.
