Remember sitting in the old Sanford Stadium, the one before they added all those luxury boxes and the big video board, and you could feel the whole place shake when we got a big third down. We packed 86,000 in there and every single one of them was on their feet screaming. Now I see these kids walking around with headphones on during the game like they are at a library. Kirby Smart is talking about expanding the playoffs and the SEC going to nine conference games and I just think about how we used to measure a season by whether you beat Auburn and Florida and Tech, not by how many playoff spots you could sneak into. The atmosphere was raw and real back then, not this manufactured entertainment product they are selling us now. You could smell the bourbon and the barbecue and the grass stains and you knew every single person around you had been coming to those games since before you were born. That is what I miss.
