Three years we've been hearing about these 21 five-star kids in the 2027 class and how they're gonna fit some fancy system. ESPN's got their scouts breaking down every little thing about these prospects and I just think back to the 1983 Clemson game when we lined up with a bunch of three-star kids from south Georgia who just wanted to hit somebody. That game meant something because you knew those boys had been waiting for that Saturday all year long. Now we're supposed to get excited about highlight reels and NIL packages before these kids ever step foot on campus. I remember when Coach Dooley would find a fullback from some tiny town nobody heard of and turn him into an All-SEC player. That was real development not this portal nonsense where kids jump ship the second they don't start. And sure we'll probably land a few of those five-stars at Georgia but half of them will be wearing different colors by their sophomore year anyway. The portal and NIL have turned loyalty into a joke. You want to know what really built this program? It was walk-ons and in-state kids who bled red and black not millionaire teenagers taking recruiting visits like they're shopping for cars.
