Now hold on just a minute. I’ve been watching this conference since We were battling Sterling and Kansas Wesleyan in the mud, back when a real rivalry meant something. You talk about developing overlooked talent like it’s some new revelation. Every single KCAC school has built its foundation on that for fifty years. That’s not a unique culture, that’s the only culture we’ve ever had in this league. To act like your program invented it is disrespectful to every coach who ever walked these sidelines. I remember watching Bethany teams in the late 80s take kids who barely had a highlight tape and turn them into All-KCAC performers who’d go toe-to-toe with anybody. That ESPN list is just noise, and always has been. The real proof is on the field in October, not in some April article. You want to talk about building men? I saw Coach Ted Kessinger do that for decades at Bethany without ever needing a press release about it. We’ll see who’s talking when the leaves turn and we’re lining up across from you. Your spring practice might be about building men, but ours is about building a team that remembers the last time we met, and that’s a whole different kind of motivation.
