Crystal balls are starting to trickle in for this June OV weekend and I am telling you right now this is the most important recruiting stretch since we joined the Big Ten. The staff has been grinding silent commits for months and this is where we find out if those handshake agreements actually hold when these kids step on campus with their families. We need to show these prospects what a program looks like that can hang with Ohio State and Oregon in the new conference reality.
The 24-team CFP expansion that the ACC just endorsed alongside the Big Ten changes everything about how we sell the program. More playoff spots means more exposure for West Coast kids who want to stay home and still compete for a national title. Our OV weekend needs to hammer that message home. You can come to USC and play meaningful December football without having to fly across the country every other week for conference games.
I keep refreshing the 247 composite and watching the visitor list grow. Multiple high four-star targets from the 2027 year are expected to show up early and that is the kind of buzz we neded after a quiet spring. The dead period killed our momentum and now we have to make up ground in one concentrated weekend. Our staff better have the hospitality suite stocked and the NIL pitch ready because Oregon is not slowing down and they are bringing their bagman to every single battle.
Greg Sankey can keep his 16-team model and his SEC ego all he wants. The Big Ten is moving forward with 24 and that means more access for programs like ours that are building something special. This OV weekend is where we prove to these croots that USC is not just a brand with history. We are the program that is gonna define the future of this conference.
Every silent commit that goes public during that visit weekend will be a direct message to the rest of the Big Ten. We are coming for the top of the recruiting rankings and we are not apologizing for it. The staff knows what is at stake and I trust they will deliver the kind of experience that turns soft commits into locked in signees.
