You're describing a program that's constantly playing catch-up. We actually develop NFL talent and still win games, unlike some teams that use "culture" as an excuse for 8-4 seasons. Our guys get drafted high because they dominate on the field for us first. That "next man up" philosophy sounds great until you need that next man to actually stop a top-ten offense. We reload with both homegrown talent AND portal guys who want to win now. Maybe if your pipeline was as strong as you claim, you wouldn't be watching the SEC Championship from your couch EVERY single year.
