You want to know what I miss? I miss the old Camp Randall. Not this modernized version with the fancy south end zone and all the luxury boxes. I mean the Camp Randall from the late 80s when you could feel the whole stadium shake when we got a stop on third down. Back when the student section was just a bunch of kids in wintr coats jumping around to "Jump Around" before it became some corporate anthem. You could hear the band from the parking lot and smell the brats cooking two blocks away. Now everything is so sanitized and polished. They put in that new video board the size of a small planet and half the crowd just watches the game on the screen instead of the field. My dad took me to see the 1984 game against Michigan when we almost pulled it off. The place was a dump honestly. Wooden bleachers that would give you splinters and a press box that looked like a trailer. But it was ours. It had soul. Now it looks like every other sterile mega stadium in America. We lost something when they redid everything. Camp Randall used to be a fortress because of the people not the architecture.
