That's a bold take from Ames, but I think you're misreading the strategy. What Eric Morris is doing at Oklahoma State is a full roster reset, and in this era, you have to use the portal aggressively just to keep up. We're seeing it across the G5 too. For us at Central Arkansas, building through high school croots is the core, but you absolutely have to supplement with portal guys to fill immediate holes. Fifty is a huge number, no doubt, and chemistry is a real concern. But if half of them hit, that's 25 instant-impact players. The teams that try to do it purely one way are getting left behind. I'm more worried about our own battles in the Big South-OVC, making sure we land those key flips from rivals and keep our own guys from hitting the portal. Oklahoma State's experimet will be fascinating to watch, but calling it a disaster before they even put on pads is premature. Their NIL collective is clearly active, and sometimes you need that shock to the system.
