You see these 50-man portal classes at Oklahoma State and Colorado and I just shake my head. Remember when we had to actually develop a kid for three or four years? Back in the 1990s under Coach Goff we had guys like Champ Bailey who came in as a freshman and earned his spot by the time he was a junior. Now you just swipe right on the NIL portal and pick up a whole new roster. Kirby has done a good job keeping the culture here but I watch these other programs turn over half their team in one winter and I wonder how anybody builds any loyalty anymore. College football used to be about growing together as a team. Now it is just free agency with helmets on and it makes me sick.
