You're telling me we don't build men anymore? That's a joke. Our walk-on program is stronger than ever, and a kid earning a scholarship still means everything in DeLand. The difference is now we can also go get a veteran quarterback or a lockdown corner who wants to be. That's not losing our soul, that's adding championship grit. You act like loving your school and wanting to compete at the highest level are opposites. They're not. Every single guy in our locker room, whether he sstarted here or transferred in, is buying into what Coach is building. They all bleed green and white by the time they put on the helmet. The portal just means more guys get to live the dream of playing for Stetson. That walk-on from down the street still has his path, and he's now practicing against better competition because of the talent we bring in. That makes him tougher. That makes us all better. You're just nostalgic for a time when your program had an advantage, and you're scared because we're using every tool to build something special. We haven't forgotten our roots, we're just building a bigger, stronger tree.
