You get Colorado bringing in 43 transfers and Oklahoma State grabbing 50 and the national media falls all over themselves talking about roster overhauls and bold new eras. Meanwhile we sit here in Fort Worth with a program built the old fashioned way and nobody even puts a single Horned Frog on their top 100 newcomers list. And you know what that tells me? That tells me we are doing it right.
I remember the 2009 Fiesta Bowl team that went 12-0 and nobody on that roster was a big name transfer. Those kids came to TCU because they wanted to be Horned Frogs not because some collective wrote a check. Dalton and Hughes and those boys from the 2010 Rose Bowl squad they stayed four years and built something real. Now you got kids bouncing around like pinballs chasing the biggest bag and the media treats it like progress.
This whole sport has lost its soul. Conference realignment killed the Southwest Conference rivalries we had with Baylor and Texas and Texas A&M and now we are stuck in this soulless Big 12 where nobody cares about history. The portal eliminated loyalty and NIL turned recruiting into an auction. But you know what? Give me a roster full of kids who actually want to be at TCU over 43 mercenaries any day of the week and twice on Saturday.
