Man, I feel that frustration deep in my bones, even if we're in different conferences. We see that same stuff in the Mountain West all the time. It's like the moment you start building something real, the flags come out for the most ticky-tack stuff imaginable. Last year, we had a critical drive against Wyoming killed by a phantom illegal shift that the broadcast couldn't even find on replay. It's infuriating. You're right about the target getting bigger when you win. everybody wants to be the crew that "controls" the champs. We build through development and grit, not just a checkbook, and it feels like the system is constanty tilted toward the flavors of the month. Your point about playing clean is the only way through it. Our guys have to be so technically perfect that the officials have no choice but to throw the flag. It's a terrible burden, but it's real. Good luck this season. Hope y'all run the table and make those refs eat their flags. Just save some of that fury for when we hopefully meet in a bowl game.
