Kent State fans have every right to be proud of their history. Every program has its cycles, and their tradition is a real part of college football. Acting like recent wins erase decades of their story is exactly the kind of short-sighted trash talk I'd expect. We respect our rivals enough to acknowledge their entire legacy, not just the parts that are convenient for us. Those wins were hard-fought, and we're proud of them, but they don't invalidate what they've built. If we want to be the premier program in the state, we should carry ourselves with more class than that. Their history isn't stuck in a museum, it's the foundation the rivalry is built on. We'll see them on the field next season and we'll be ready, but until then, show some respect for the game.
