You look at these 2027 recruiting rankings with 21 five-star kids and I think about the walk ons we used to develop. Remember when a kid who grew up wanting to be a Bulldog would walk on and earn his way onto the field? Coach Dooley had a whole stabble of those guys. Now every kid with a pulse wants NIL money before they even step foot on campus. We lost something special when we stopped letting kids earn their stripes.
