Everybody wants to talk about Oregon with Dante Moore and Dylan Raiola battling it out or Texas with Arch Manning. But nobody is asking the real question which is what kind of room we have built in Athens behind that. Look I get it we lost a guy to the NFL draft like every other program in the country does. That is the price of success. But the way some of these analysts talk you would think we are starting from scratch at the most important position on the field. They forget that Kirby and Bobo have been stockpiling talent in that room for years now. We have guys who have been sitting and learning the sysetm for multiple seasons the exact same way we developed. That is the Georgia way. We do not panic and grab a transfer just because the outside noise gets loud. We trust the development pipeline that has produced back to back championships and a playoff appearance every single year. The spring practice reports coming out of Athens have been quiet which is exactly how you want it. Nobody is leaking depth chart drama. Nobody is hinting at a quarterback controversy. The room is competing and the best guy will play when the season starts against Tennessee State. But here is what I know about this coaching staff. They have never been afraid to let a young quarterback grow. If the guy they believe in takes some lumps early they will ride with him. That is how you build a program that sustains. You do not yank a kid after one bad quarter in September. You let him learn and by November he is a different player. Meanwhile the rest of the SEC is scrambling through the portal every single spring trying to patch holes. Alabama revamped their entire offensive line through the portal.
