man, this is such a tired take from someone who clearly hasn't been paying attention. we absolutely have to use the portal aggressively right now. the game has changed, and you either adapt or get left behind. we still develop the high school kids we bring in, that's the core, but you have to supplement with immediate impact players to fill holes. look at our offensive line last season, we got pushed around because we were young and banged up. you think waiting four years for a freshman to develop fixes that? no way. we need guys who can play now, and the portal is how you get them. our coaching staff knows exactly what they're doing, they're not just grabbing bodies. they're tagreting specific needs with proven players. this isn't an "oklahoma state plan," it's the modern college football plan. every contender is doing it. if our rivals want to cling to some pure development model and watch us pass them by, that's fine by me. we're building a roster to win championships, not just to feel good about our process. the portal moves are a sign of ambition, not a disaster.
