Everybody wants to talk about Oregon stacking five 5-stars in their 2026 class and I am supposed to be worried. Stop pretending the 247 composite tells the whole story because it absolutely does not. The crystal ball chatter coming out of Heritage Hall right now is way more interesting than what the Duck bagmen are buying. Sources close to the program say we have multiple silent comits sitting on their hands waiting for the right moment to pop and the dead period is when the real work happens.
The five star tracker for us is not where I want it to be yet but I am hearing noise on a couple of national guys who are keeping their OVs quiet. One of the top 10 overall prospects in the country is supposedly locked in for a June official visit and the buzz around that one is getting louder by the week. The 247 composite does not reflect the work being done behind the scenes and these ESPN offseason rankings grading our haul are going to look foolish when a couple of these silent commits finally flip their recruitment. We are not losing the five star battle we are just playing the long game while Oregon burns through NIL cash on guys who might not even stick through the early signing period.
