Everyone staring at that ESPN 2027 five-star list and counting how many Texas and Georgia are pulling is missing the actual battle. The real war is happening on the West Coast for the kids nobody is talking about yet. We have two five-stars in that entire 21-man list and the national media already has us written off in the class rankings. Fine by me. Our staff is quietly building relationships with the 4-star sleepers who will outplay half those names anyway.
The crystal ball movement on a couple of our 2027 targets has been steady all spring. I am hearing the silent commit chatter on one specific interior lineman who the 247 composite has criminally undervalued. The dead period is the perfect time for our coaches to be working those back channels while everybody else is busy counting stars. Oregon can stack their five-stars all they want but we are building a class that fits what we actually run on offense.
Stop letting ESPN tell you who matters. The 2027 class is wide open and we have the bagman connections and the program legacy to close on kids who actually want to play in January. Watch what happens when the OVs start rolling this summer.
