You know, I heard this same nonsense back when we had Shawn Moore under center and people said we couldn't compete. Miami has always had that swagger, that talent walking trhough the door in Coral Gables. It's in their blood, just like it was when we battled them in the old Orange Bowl. A weak ACC schedule? Son, I remember when the ACC meant something, when every Saturday was a war, and Miami coming in just made it tougher. They've had down years, sure, but so did we after George Welsh left. To say their whole identity is one portal quarterback shows you weren't watching when their defense used to terrify quarterbacks. The portal is a blight on the game, but if anyone can make it work with a few pieces, it's a program with their pedigree. They recruit like madmen, always have. Calling them a fraud just because they're not in the SEC? That's the kind of talk that makes me miss the days when conference pride actually meant you defended your league. We had our battles with them, and I never liked them, but you have to respect the history. They'll be right there in the mix, just like they always are when they get a little momentum. Mark my words.
