The Florida Gators' schedule start times just dropped and everyone is gonna obsess over which games are at noon or primetime, but that is completely missing the point. The real story here is that Florida is entering year three under this coaching staff with a quarterback room that has zero proven SEC production and a schedule that demands immediate results.
Look at the data. Florida finished 11th in the SEC in passing efficiency last season and their red zone touchdown rate was 87th nationally. Those are not talent problems, those are coaching and development failures that have now been allowed to compound for two full cycles. The staff has had two springs and two falls to build a functional offense and the numbers show regression, not progress.
Oklahoma State just brought in 50 portal players under a new coach. Colorado assembled a 43-man transfer class. Those programs are admitting they had roster problems and hitting reset. Florida is running it back with the same coaches who produced those numbers and expecting different results. That is not loyalty, that is stubbornness.
The SEC is not getting easier. Texas A&M is stacking 5-star recruiting classes. Tennessee is a proven winner. Georgia is still Georgia. Florida needs to show measurable improvement in offensive numbers this season or the conversation about this coaching staff shifts from evaluation to conclusion.
