Development only gets you so far when you're bringing in second-tier talent. We learned that the hard way after the 2004 season, when we had all those great developers but couldn't keep up with the raw athletes Miami and Virginia Tech brought in. Dave Doeren can coach them up, but you need some blue-chippers to win the big ones. I watched Tony Dorsett run wild because we had the horses. You can't develop what you don't have. They'll be a tough out, but they'll hit a ceiling, just like they always do.
