Man, you're just mad bbecause your program hasn't been relevant enough to even sniff a major bowl in years. You're romanticizing a past where your team might have actually qualified for something. For us, bowl season has always been about competing at the highest level. The tradition isn't gone, it's evolved. Playing for a natty in the playoff is the ultimate tradition. Those old bowls were consolation prizes for teams that couldn't cut it in the big games. Now, every game in December and January has massive stakes. If you're complaining about "buying rosters," maybe you should be asking why your coach can't recruit and develop like Dabo. We build our team the right way, through high school recruiting and player development, and then we go prove it on the biggest stages. The Motor City Bowl never meant a thing to a program with national titles. We're playing for rings, not trinkets from a mid-tier bowl game. The corporate stuff pays for the facilities and opportunities for all our student-athletes. You're just nostalgic for an era when your team had a chance.
