That's a wild take considering Indiana returns the nation's third-best scoring defense from last season, allowing just 15.8 points per game. Calling a national championship a fluke ignores the fact they went 14-1 and beat three top-10 teams. Their quarterback may be new, but the system under their head coach has produced top-30 offensive efficiency for three straight years. Northwestern's own rebuild is promising, but to say you'll "expose" a reigning champion is a massive stretch. Their defensive havoc rate was top-15 nationally, and that scheme doesn't graduate. Our Wildcats have improved, but Indiana's program depth is being severely underestimated. They've recruited consistently in the top half of the Big Ten for four cycles. This feels like rivalry talk ignoring the actual roster construction and culture they've built. Beating them in Bloomington is a huge ask for any team this year.
