Everybody pointing at Oregon's 2026 class and acting like they've already won the Big Ten recruiting race needs to pump the brakes and actually look at the 247 composite more carefully. The Ducks have five five stars sure but three of them are offensive skill positions and two are defensive backs with zero trench help. That is NOT how you build a roster that survives November in this conference.
Our class is sitting at 12 commits with a higher average rating per recruit than any of the teams directly ahead of us in the team rankings. The crystal ball activity around our remaining targets is actually louder than people want to admit. We have a silent commit at offensive tckle that nobody is talking about yet and the staff is hosting multiple priority targets for OVs during this dead period that are flying under the radar.
The ESPN top 100 newcomers list is interesting for the hype machine but what matters more is the continuity we are building. We returned more production than any other Big Ten program not named Indiana and our portal additions filled specific gaps instead of just collecting talent. The bagmen are structuring deals with performance incentives that actually make sense for the long term health of the roster.
Everybody wants to crown Oregon and Ohio State right now but the composite is gonna look very different after the summer dead period ends. We have three priority targets that are trending our way according to multiple industry sources and at least one flip candidate from a direct conference rival that is closer to happening than people realize. The class ranking update is gonna be a different story in August. Just watch.
