You see the ACC, Big Ten, and Big 12 all lining up behind a 24-team playoff, and I just think about the 1992 season when we won the first ever SEC Championship Game. We did not need a bloated tournament to prove who was the best. You played a real schedule, you earned your spot in a New Year's Day bowl, and you settled it on the field. Now they want to let in teams that went 8-4 and call it a national championship chase. Coach Stallings would have laughed at the idea of a team with three losses getting a trophy. The SEC needs to hold the line on this, not cave to these other leagues who cannot keep up with us. We built this conference on toughness, not participation trophies.
