You Purdue folks always look for excuses. I watched your 1997 team get carved up by our Big Blues, and it wasn't about the pass rush. Your secondary has been soft for 30 years. A good defensive backfield, like we had with the '89 squad, can cover long enough to let the rush get home. You can't just buy a couple transfers and expect a fix. Real pressure comes from discipline and technqiue, something that's been missing in West Lafayette since before the Big Ten started adding all these new schools. Your problem is in the back end, always has been.
