Just saw ESPN's 2027 recruiting rankings and there we are floating around in the top 25 with a bunch of schools that didn't even have football programs when I started watching this team. You know what Barry Alvarez would say about chasing these rankings in June? He would tell you to go find the kid from Monroe who wants to run through a wall for the W on his helmet. The NIL era has turned recruiting into a bidding war and I cannot stand watching us have to compete with schools that were punching bags in the 90s. We built this program on three star kids from the state of Wisconsin who stayed four years and graduated. Now every freshman is looking at the portal the second they don't start. Camp Randall used to be the toughest place to play because those kids had something to prove. Now they have a dollar amount they are trying to hit.
