Everyone sleeping on the decommitment watch for our 2027 class and it is driving me crazy. We are sitting at No. 11 in the ESPN rankings with zero five-stars locked up and people are acting like that is fine because the dead period means nothing happens. Wrong. The dead period is exactly when the noise starts building. I am hearing from sources close to the program that at least two of our top-100 commits are getting heavy pressure from other staffs right now. Notre Dame is sniffing around one of our Southern California guys hard and Texas A&M has been in the ear of anther for weeks.
The staff needs to get these guys on campus for an OV before summer ends or we are going to see a flip. You do not sit on soft commits in June and hope they hold. That is how you lose a kid who has been in your pocket since January. Oregon is out here with five five-stars and they are still working the phones every single day. We cannot afford to get complacent just because the calendar says dead period. The bagmen do not take days off and neither should our coaches. I am watching this like a hawk because one silent commit going public with a decommitment could start a chain reaction we do not recover from. Do not let the quiet summer fool you. The storm is coming.
